On the morning of November 20th, Zhu Shaozhong, secretary of the party committee of Sanda, led the members of the leading group to participate in the activity centering on “never forget the original intention and keep the mission in mind” by visiting Qian Xuesen Library.
Qian Xuesen Library was opened to the public on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Qian Xuesen’s birth on December 11, 2011. Members of the leading group visited four parts of the museum: the founder of China’s space industry, the pioneer of science and technology, the style of people’s scientist, and the success of a strategic scientist.
Zhu Shaozhong said that the visit to Qian Xuesen Library brought a deeper understanding of Qian's life. His life experience and achievements have left a dazzling light on the national history of the Chinese and the world history of mankind, illuminating the path for the future. Qian is not only a treasure of knowledge and a banner of science, but also the backbone of the nation and a model of the Chinese people all over the world.
Vice President Lou Binchao said that Qian’s noble spirit of patriotism, positive spirit of innovation and dedication were worth learning and remembering and that he embodied the traditional virtues of the Chinese nation.
Chen Wei, deputy secretary of the party committee, said Qian’s contribution not only promoted the development of China's space industry, but also the development of the entire scientific and technological system. Qian’s spirit of scientific exploration, deep affection for the motherland, and indifferent to fame and wealth are examples for us to learn from.
