School of International Medical Technology of Sanda University and University of South Alabama Work Together to Establish a Cooperative Relationship

School of   International Medical Technology of Sanda University signed a memorandum of   understanding with Pat Capps Covey College of Allied Health Professions   University of South Alabama on March 8th, 2018 in order to promote the   development of the professional education of rehabilitation therapy, give   full play to the advantages of the profession, achieve mutual benefit and   win-win outcome, and seek common development.

Dr. Qiaoping Jia,   Vice President, Dr. Yan Xu, Dean, School of International Medical Technology,   Ms. Hua Hua, Director, Office of International Cooperation, Sanda University,   Dr. David Johnson, Senior Vice President, and Dr. Gregory Frazer, Dean and   Professor, Pat Capps Covey College of Allied Health Professions, University   of South Alabama, all attended the signing ceremony which was presided over   by Dr. Wenhua Chen, Chairman of the Department of Rehabilitation Therapy at   Sanda University.

Dr. Qiaoping JiaVice President   first gave the confirmation and recognition to the strategic vision of the   two institutions for looking into the future and the strong sense of   responsibility to the students ' development plan. She also expressed her   expectation for the incoming cooperation between the two institutions in   terms of joint student nurturing in a “4+1” Bachelor-Master dual degree program,   introduction of courses from the other institution, faculty training,   exchange of visits and etc.

Dr. Yan Xu, on behalf   of the college, extended her welcome to the arrival of the visitors from the   American partner institution and hoped that both sides can make further   breakthroughs in the depth and breadth of cooperation in the future, and   indeed achieve win-win results for both institutions and their students.

The memorandum of   understanding, signed by both institutions, mainly includes the following:

1.Sanda University will recommend students who meet the   admission criteria of the American partner institution to go to University of   South Alabama for graduate studies seeking for a Master’s degree in Physical   Therapy or in Rehabilitation Science (full time).The participating students will be   conferred with a Master’s degree in Physical Therapy or in Rehabilitation   Science, after the completion of at least one-year course work studies and   the satisfaction of the university requirement for graduation.

2.School of International Medical Technology of Sanda University   and Pat Capps Covey College of Allied Health Professions of University of   South Alabamawill provide opportunities to faculty members to come to each other   ‘s institution as visiting scholars for academic advancement.

3.Both institutions will provide opportunities to students at   each other’s institution for short-term studies.

4.University of South   Alabama will send professional faculty members   to Sanda University for a short-term teaching and lecturing.

5.Both institutions will carry out activities including joint   scientific research projects and others on the basis of demand.

The   leaders of both institutions, after the MOU signing ceremony, conducted discussions   with Sanda faculty representatives who indicated that the signing of the memorandum   of understanding for cooperation will provide more opportunities for the   further development of students in the field of Rehabilitation Therapy, and   will further enrich the teaching-learning resources of the institution.
