The Seventh Cervantes Art Festival in Sanda has been successfully held by School of Spanish in the Xie Xide Hall. Focusing on the Spanish language, this festival covered four themed activities, i.e., seminars, vocabulary contests, recitation contests and entertainment gala. Consul General of Columbia in Shanghai Ms. Luz Helena Echeverry delivered a lecture entitled Colombia, RealismoMágico to the audience. In addition, students from Shanghai I&C Foreign Languages School were invited to give performances.

Director Chen Quan of School of Spanish said that it had been a tradition for the School to hold Cervantes Art Festival in late April every year since its founding. The Art Festival was aimed at building a platform for students to train and display their organizing ability, creativity and performing talents. It was hoped that students were able to display the beauty and glamour of Spanish through a variety of activities.Now the Art Festival has become a popular activity attracting both teachers and students within the school.
