Last week, President Li Jin, accompanied by Vice President Zhang Zengtai, Director of Facility Management Yang Zhaoqing and Director of International Office Hua Hua, made a visit to Frankfurt Universityof Applied Sciences in Germany, University of Ljubljana in Slovenia and Varna Free University in Bulgaria.
Frankfurt University of Applied Science (FRA-UAS), founded in 1971, is a public university of applied sciences in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. It offers more than 30 undergraduate and master’s programs. During his visit, President Li signed a memorandum of understanding and an agreement on double-degree programs with his counterpart Reiner Frey. At the Business School of FRA-UAS, President Li had talks on the double-degree program and research cooperation, met incoming international students to Sanda University and answered their questions.
University of Ljubljana (UL), founded in 1919, is the oldest, largest, and internationally best ranked university in Slovenia. It has 3 colleges and 23 departments, and provides more than 130 study programs. At University of Ljubljana , President Li and his party visited the Confucius Institute and had an in-depth talk on the application for Confucius Institute and its management with the Chinese and foreign directors. Through talks at the Economic and Business School of UL, the two parties reached a consensus on faculty exchange, joint undergraduate and master’s programs and summer-camp program.
Similar to the founding history of Sanda University, Varna Free University (VFU) is also a renowned private institute in Bulgaria. It is the first and only university in Bulgaria that has been awarded DS (Diploma Supplement) lable, ECTS (The European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System) label and HR Excellence in Research logo by the of the European Commission for many years straight. It offers 69 undergraduate and master’s programs and 20 PhD programs. At the invitation of this prestige university, President Li and Sanda delegation attended the education forum for the school’s 25th anniversary. Bulgaria’s Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Education and Minister of Labor also attended this forum and delivered their speeches. As one of the three invited speakers from international institutes for the celebration, President Li shared his ideas on education equality.
Afterwards, the two institutes held a discussion and reached a consensus on the joint program in Business Management, Erasmus+ program, students’ visa, the joint application for Confucius Institute and the collaboration in Cisco IT program. Later the delegation visited Sanda students who are now studying for their Master's Degrees at VFU.
