     TheUniversity of Hull(known informally as "Hull University") is anEnglishuniversity, founded in 1927, located inKingston upon Hull, a city in theEast Riding of Yorkshire. Though classed as a "redbrick university", its expansion in recent decades has seen the addition of a variety of building styles from the traditional main buildings, 1960s teaching blocks to modern additions.

    The main university campus is located in Hull and there is a smaller campus inScarboroughon theNorth Yorkshirecoast. It is a partner in the proposed University Centre ofGrimsby Institute of Further and Higher Educationin North East Lincolnshire. The main campus is home to theHull York Medical School, a joint initiative with theUniversity of York. Students are served byHull University Union.

    The University comprises sevensections: Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences; Hull York Medical School; Faculty of Health and Social Care; Faculty of Science and Engineering; Business School, and Faculty of Education.

The total student population at the University of Hull is approximately 20,000 across Hull and Scarborough campuses. Over 2,500 people are employed by the University of Hull; more than 1000 are academic staff.

    The University has particularresearch expertisein social justice, environmental technologies, maritime history, healthcare, 3D visualisation and nanotechnology – it’s also known for liquid-crystal technology (for which the Department of Chemistry received the Queen’s Award for Technological Achievement).

    Alumni of the University of Hullare prominent in the fields of academia, politics, journalism and drama. They include former MP and Deputy Prime Minister Lord Prescott of Kingston-upon-Hull (John Prescott), social scientist LordAnthony Giddens, poetRoger McGough, journalistJohn McCarthy, politician and authorChris Mullin.


    Since 2004, Sanda and Hull formally signed collegiate exchange agreement, 24 students from different majors have been to Hull to do their further education. The “3+1” and “4+1” programs are developed. Students of some majors in Business and management colleges can directly attend the second-year or third-year undergraduate course of business colleges in Hull University. Senior Students from Sanda can apply for any master’s degree course in Hull.
